What to Expect

Visiting any church for the very first time can make anyone nervous. Questions like:  "Where do I go?  What do I wear?  What time do I show up?  What's here for my kids?  What can I expect?" and many more come to mind.    We want to put you at ease.  We want to make your first visit to Village Bible Church refreshing, welcoming, and enjoyable for your whole family. We hope that by offering you inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome, you will feel "at home" here!  Anticipating questions you may have, about what to expect with your first visit, here are answers to a few commonly asked questions:

Will I be pointed out or pressured in some way?

Absolutely not.  We do not announce visitor names, nor do we put our guests on the spot. We do have a greeting time, when the congregation greets one another.  You may join in or simply stay in your seat, allowing others to greet you and introduce themselves simply stay in your seat, smile, and greet any who come to introduce themselves.

Current members have said that in this greeting time, during their initial visit to Village Bible Church, they felt genuinely welcomed and accepted.  The love, joy, and warmth they saw demonstrated among the worshipers helped bring them back and want to know more.

What should I wear?

There is not a dress code at Village Bible Church for members or guests. Our pastor and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, a specific attire is not required, and our members wear a variety of styles of clothing. We think it makes sense to wear nice, clean, modest clothing to church. As long as you do that you will not feel out of place.

Do you have a nursery?

Yes. Nursery is provided during all services for children 3 years of age and under.

What are your services like?

Our services are what is commonly called “traditional.” The worship music consists primarily of great hymns of the faith as well as some doctrinally rich choruses. We do have special music from members of the congregation on occasion. The focus of all of our meetings is the Word of God. Generally, we will have several hymns, prayer, an offering, and then a message from the Bible.

Do visitors have to stand up and say anything?

No, you sure don’t. Participation in the various activities is entirely voluntary.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don't invite you to Village Bible Church for your offering.  It is our hope that you will be richly blessed by our worship service.  We desire to honor God in our individual and corporate lives, and we hope you will find this a place of truth, warmth, and grace.  Please do not feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

Do you have other questions?

If there is something we missed please ask.  Whether you are new to the area and looking for a church home or if it has been a long time since you have attended church, we hope your first visit to Village Bible will be encouraging!  We want to serve you and your family and get to know you.  We hope that you will feel at home from the minute you step through our door!  We look forward to meeting you this Sunday.
