Paul’s Testimony: A Changed Life

Acts 26:12–32

Receiving Christ brings a change of life. Paul’s life was set in a new direction as he followed the Lord Jesus. How has your life changed after you received Christ?

  1. Paul’s changed life in Christ - 12–23
    1. Paul’s life was changed when he was saved - Acts 9:15–16
      1. All believers are chosen vessels of Christ - 1 Peter 1:2; 2:9–10
      2. All believers bear the name of Christ - 2 Thessalonians 1:11–12
      3. All believers are called to suffer for Christ - 2 Timothy 1:8–9
    2. Paul’s life was changed when he was called to be an apostle - Acts 22:14–21
      1. Paul was chosen to be an apostle - 1 Corinthians 1:1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God,
      2. We are called to believe the word of the apostles - 1 John 4:4–6
      3. All believers are sent to preach the gospel and to call others to repentance and faith in Christ!
    3. Paul lived a changed life as he fulfilled his calling to be an apostle and to preach the gospel to the Gentiles.
      1. Every believer is called to live a changed life - Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
      2. Every believer has a specific calling. Where has the Lord placed you? To whom has the Lord sent you? What is your message?
  1. Paul’s chained life in Christ - 24–32
    1. Paul was accused of being out of his mind. The Greek word means a maniac which has two meanings: out of control lunatic or having an over-the-top enthusiasm for something.
    2. The gospel message is true and makes perfect sense to anyone who is honest enough to examine the evidence and read the scriptures.
    3. Agrippa understood what Paul was trying to do but was not convinced to become a Christian. The phrase could mean something like this: “You so quickly and easily convince me to become a Christian (?)”
    4. Paul’s earnest desire before God was that all would become Christians quickly and easily and completely just as he had.
    5. Paul recognized his calling - Philippians 1:12–13 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ;

Brother and sister, the Lord has given us a changed and chained life!
